Baba Kuboye is a U.S.-based Afrobeat artist, multi-instrumentalist, and voting member of the Recording Academy who holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering alongside a Master's in Mobile Communication Systems. Blending his background in technical problem-solving with a century of family heritage, he founded Down 4 Whateva Entertainment (the first minority-owned independent Afrobeat label in the United States), to build sustainable infrastructure for artists in the diaspora.
A Hollywood Independent Music Award winner (Ikoyi Boy) and Intercontinental Music Award winner (Aiye), Baba actively uses his global platform, cross-genre collaborations, and voting seat at the Grammys to advocate for independent creators and ensure African music receives proper industry recognition and compensation.
